Ladies and Gentlemen . . . Amanda Davis
A native of Northern Virginia, Amanda Davis has been singing soul and R&B since she began voice
lessons at the age of 14 with Perimus Music Group’s executive vice president and co-founder
Lorin Peters. She has been singing and dancing in talent shows and the school chorus for years,
always looking for her first break. “Growing up with Mariah Carey and Christina Aguilera and so
many other larger-than -life vocalists, I always wanted to sing and perform as a kid,” said
Davis. “Anyone who was doing something fresh and good, I admired that. When you get a shot like
this you have to jump on it.” Before taking root in Front Royal, Davis lived in Europe for
several years and then in Kentucky, Ohio and other Midwest and Southern destinations, all of
which had a significant influence on her talent. As she puts it, “I listen to just about
anything and everything. I gravitate toward R&B and Soul, but I love all types of music.” All
of which has had an influence on her work. Davis has been working with Perimus Music Group’s
Virginia and Ohio offices since its inception in 2008. “Everyone at Perimus has been very open
and warm with me. But I mostly love the fact that I have a hand in everything. I have a say in
my image, I’m writing and arranging, you can’t do this at a big label which dictates
practically everything you do.”
